ESG Sustainability Hotel Audit

HotelCheckBio aims to continue promoting the adoption of good sustainable management practices in tourist accommodation, minimizing their impacts, optimizing resources and maximizing benefits for the environment that surrounds us.

The application of this standard demonstrates to clients and tour operators the criteria on which the Certification is based, taking into account the triple impact (Environmental, Social, Governance - from now on ESG) and involving the requirements present in the applicable legislation and international standards, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

HotelCheckBio evaluates establishments at two levels, Suitable and Unsuitable, the latter being equivalent to a sustainability level of less than 60%.

HotelCheckBio's certification standards may be used by other certification entities, provided they have prior legal consent from HotelCheck and we verify the manner of use.

The Certification process is 100% online and has a subsequent audit of the evidence provided in the emissions. In addition, it is applicable to tourist accommodation establishments at a national and international level.

The HotelCheckBio methodology is made up of 3 measurement blocks, with their respective indicators.

The blocks focus on:

• Environmental dimension
• Social Measurement
• Governance

Aligned with international ESG/ESG criteria.

Each block is made up of their respective questions, which are an indicator of the state of the organization in the matter.

The establishment will not obtain a sufficient score if it does not show the evidence required as an indicator in the questions.

The total score of the establishment is calculated equally for each of the pillars of sustainability; environmental, social and governance.
